From the Blog
Our land weeps for all the suffering She has endured,
Deep wounds from abuse and scars cut from greed,
She weeps from lack of respect, honour, love, gratitude,
Taken for granted and given nothing in return
But for poison, fumes, litter and neglect.
She calls out now, grabbing our attention all over the globe,
Gently shaking our shoulders to wake us and remember
To return to balance and how things ought to be.
She whispers into our ears and breathes love into our hearts,
A distant memory stirs from ancient depths held within.
We awaken, confused at how we arrived in this desolate place,
How did we not notice the loving connection we had lost?
We’ve become islands broken off and drifted far from our home,
We must return and find wholeness within ourselves once more,
To reestablish our place within and not on top of the rest.
We hold the key to the portal that takes us back where we came,
Before we drifted away aboard these isolated, lonely vessels.
Like a stone we hold memory of all that was and what can be again,
We must find others and gather to form a critical mass,
Together we can piece the memory and find our way back.
Shout from the rooftops, bang drums, make a wish,
To find kindred spirits who want to find their way too,
The option is there for those who want to remember the way,
To the reciprocal dance where we listen and feel the next step,
To move along with others of all different kinds.
How do we begin to find our way to recall,
When so much has happened and we’re so far adrift?
The journey, as ever, must begin with ourselves,
To look at and accept all the darkness within.
We are each part of the journey we’ve collectively made.
In lives past we’ve all done terrible things
That have brought us to where we find ourselves now,
But with the key of forgiveness and the stone of remembering,
We can become the keystone species we’re supposed to be;
Just one part of the Whole of our beloved Mother Earth.
